Accept Christ

No matter where you are on your spiritual journey, there is a next step waiting for you.

How Do I Accept Christ?

Through prayer, you can invite Jesus into your heart to become your personal Lord and Savior.

"For Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13

You have made a decision that  will undoubtedly have a major influence on the direction of your life. Engaging in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior will be the most exciting and life-changing relationship you will ever encounter. Entering into a relationship with Him marks the beginning of a new life and First Mt. Calvary shares your excitement and rejoices with you!

Choosing to believe that He is who He claimed to be, the Son of God and the only way to salvation-and receiving Him by faith as your Lord and Savior is the most vital act you will ever do.

New life begins in Christ!

Receiving Christ into your heart is as simple as saying you  ABCs:

Admit that you are a sinner and that you need God's help.

  • "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God," (Romans 3:23)
  • "Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way, death came to all people, because all sinned." (Romans 5:12)

Be willing to change your life and turn from your sin (repent).

  • Jesus said: "I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish (Luke 13:5)
  • "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16)
  • "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)

Confess with your mouth who Jesus is.

  • "If you declare with your mouth 'Jesus is Lord' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved." (Romans 10:9-10)
The Prayer of Salvation

If you are willing to place your trust in Jesus Christ, you can invite him into your heart by prayer. Use the following prayer or a similar one in your own words.

“Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins and surrender my life to you. Wash me clean. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. That he died on the cross for my sins and rose again on the third day for my victory. I believe this in my heart and make the confession with my mouth, that Jesus is my Savior and Lord. Amen.”

Get Baptized

A visual demonstration of your faith & obedience.

Go then, to all people everywhere and make them My disciples. Baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and then teach them to obey everything I have commanded you.” – Matthew 28:19-20

What is Baptism?

Baptism in the Bible expresses an identification with Christ's death and resurrection—the old self was crucified with Christ and the new self resurrecting or rising up. A representation of the change that has taken place inwardly.

How do I get baptized at First Mt. Calvary?

First Mt. Calvary wants to ensure that each person that desires to be baptized fully understands the meaning of baptism, what it represents, and the journey forward after baptism.  As a result, we have a short Christian Foundations course that supports growth and understanding about baptism and other foundational Christian principles.  Once the course is complete, baptisms are scheduled so that persons who desire to be baptized can invite family, friends, and neighbors to come and celebrate the glorious occasion with us!
